LINK TO SOLAR RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES

Even though they’re still in the prototype stage and not terribly efficient at this point, I still think these solar powered rechargeable batteries are a brilliant idea. Designed by Knut Karlsen, the SunCats are basically a set of old NiMH rechargeable batteries wrapped in a flexible Photo Voltaic cell created by the Institute for Energy Technology. When the batteries are drained, you simply leave them sitting in a windowsill or anywhere with ample sunlight and they’ll recharge themselves.

LINK PHILIPS EVERLASTING LIGHTBULB

Philips’ Master LED bulb has the same form factor as the old-fashioned kind, making it “simple for people to use and feel good about using.” The bulb draws just 7 watts but gives off light equivalent to 40 watts’ worth, and lasts 45,000 hours, as opposed to the 1,500 of its incandescent predecessors. Already available in Europe, the Master LED should make its way to North American shores sometime before July.

BlackBerry Storm to Appear On November 14 [Rumor]

According to a tipster working at Verizon, the BlackBerry Storm—Research In Motion clickity-touchscreen rival against AT&T’s iPhone and T-Mobile’s G1— will appear on Friday next week, November 14. This is the reason of the new Verizon’s $30 data plans, which will be obligatory starting on that date:

I work for Verizon wireless. Your post was correct: We are putting in forced data packs on the 14th. The reason is that this is the Storm’s release date from every memo that we have been given access to, it will be released that morning at all Verizon Corporate stores. Second tier resellers, like Wireless Zone, will get it at the end of the month.

Best Buy Product Sheet Backs BlackBerry Storm November 16th Release [Blackberry Storm]

A Best Buy presentation leaked a couple of weeks ago revealed a November 16th “in-store” date for the BlackBerry Storm. A Best Buy product sheet recently obtained by BGR seems to back up this information citing an “in-stock” date for the same day. If this information is correct, the Storm could hit before Thanksgiving. [BGR]
