CSI 720 Bathurst Street

CSI 720 Bathurst Street

The demand for small, ready to go, inexpensive office space has exploded over the last 6 months.  If you need offices, the new CSI Annex at 720 Bathurst Street could be your new savior.   Find attached some information on their new building at 720 Bathurst Street and some additional information / pictures on the complex.   If you are interested in learning more or want to reach out to Tonya Surman – CSI Founder I’m happy to make the introduction!

The CSI Vision

Our vision for the Centre for Social Innovation Annex is a dynamic space that’s bursting at the seams with creative and entrepreneurial energy. The first floor will be a community gathering place, with event spaces and plenty of unstructured social space to chill-out and connect. The second floor will be a vibrant mix of desks and hot desks, hosting an incredible diversity of members in a beautiful and open collaborative environment. Floors three through five will be a mix of offices, desks, and themed incubation spaces focussed on improving our city and bringing new projects to life.

The new space is made up of five floors and totals 36,000 square feet. The building is two blocks from the subway line, has plentiful light and exposed brick/beams, and is in close proximity to an array of restaurants and services. A variety of permanent and part-time workspaces are available!

Maple Leaf Gardens Makeover

Renovations on Maple Leaf Gardens steadily continue as construction crews try to meet a projected spring 2011 completion date of the joint Loblaws and Ryerson facility. As part of a deal that provided the project with a sum of $20-million from Canada’s Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, the makeover of the original six arena must be finished by March 31, 2011.

LEED Office Buildings in Toronto

It’s a shame that most of  the LEED projects in Toronto turned out to look so similar, like the RBC, TIFF Lightbox and Telus buildings.  Here’s a blogTO article on the LEED Toronto building boom.

The new First Canadian Place facade

A few of my clients have mentioned the construction is LOUD but it’s starting to look like it will be pretty nice.

Original blog post

For those interested in the building, it’s actually a great time to have a look at its transformation. With the old and new facade in clear view, one now has a glimpse of both the past and the present of the iconic (at least by Toronto standards) office tower. For my part, I tend to think the new exterior is a bit stark. But, assuming it keeps its snowy white colour better than its predecessor, this may not ultimately be a bad thing. When I think of the skylines of other North American cities, I can’t immediately bring to mind a white tower of its size and presence.

A few favorite pics of the CN Tower

These are a few of my favorite pics of the CN Tower I have stumbled upon online.

I haven’t been up the tower in years so I recently went to restaurant 360.  Gets you a free admission and a mediocre meal but check out the views.

3d Commercial Real Estate Marketing – 45 Bay St Toronto – Arcestra

There’s a new marketing and technology company in Toronto for commercial real estate developers.  Arcestra is making great headway with the large commercial real estate landlords to help them market new office developments before they break ground.  New 3d rendering technology allows you to walk through your office space before it’s built.  They can even add the views!  Check out an example here.

579 Richmond Street West – Fantastic Brick and Beam Downtown West Toronto

I’ve had this sublease available for a while. Two meeting rooms, reception, shipping entrance at the back, parking, kitchen and the furniture can be included.

It’s a great deal and a great space. Do you know anyone looking for this type of product?

116 Spadina – 1,260 sf – 1 year sublease with furniture

Just picked up this listing and they are rare.  Short term sublease built out 2 years ago with two offices, meeting room, small reception and open area for about 6 people.  Perfect for a little start-up or someone that wants a short term lease.  I’ve put together the video and added some pics below.

The Gardiner Expressway Renovation – Cool Ideas

20091204gardiner lead | Office Space Toronto | Commercial Real Estate Toronto

Full Article

The Gardiner Expressway has become Toronto’s great quagmire. The elevated, concrete traffic artery has sliced through the downtown core since 1965, and has been the bane of urban planners, real-estate developers, environmentalists, and commuters ever since. The debate over how to update the decaying structure is a heated one. Should we tear it down? Repair it? Build under it? Around it? Through it? How about on top of it?
