First Canadian Place gets a new skin

Article on the renovations of First Canadian Place from BlogTo.

Brookfield Properties, the current owner of the tower, has decided to replace the marble cladding. Starting from the top and working down, each one of the marble slabs on the faces of the building will be replaced with textured spandrel glass – essentially opaque panes of glass that will feature a triangular pattern to create visual depth.

Funny how a lot of the pictures and ideas resemble a site I designed for Allen Park.  Also funny that they used the same design firm for the building (& Co).  Still, a great project and great website.  Hope more landlord’s out there take this kind of initiative.

Featured Building – 77 King Street West – TD Centre

Cadillac Fairview will have some work to do leasing up the TD Centre in heart of the financial core. Due to some big chunks of space coming available at the end of the year they have created a new website to help advertise the buildings. Cadillac has made a commitment to reinvest in the complex to improve its long term environmental sustainability.
